Be Real wins in Peterborough

Be Real caused an upset in the Puppy Derby Final at Peterborough, by winning the £5000 contest, after going off at 7/1.

The Dave Mullins-trained runner broke well, and managed to stretch his advantage in the early stages with the help of some trouble behind in the pack.

Glenadda Magic did close to gap as he chased Be Real for second place, but there were four lengths between the pair, as they crossed the line in the feature race of the evening.

Warhawk wins Puppy Trophy

Farloe Warhawk enhanced his reputation as an outstanding prospect by winning the Puppy Trophy at Shawfield on Scottish Derby night.

Running out of the blue jacket, Barrie Draper’s runner came home with a time of 28.83, almost breaking the track record over 480 metres in the process.

It was Farloe Warhawk’s first run away from his home track of Sheffield, but he looked comfortable at the Scottish track, as he got away to a blistering start to go clear at the second bend, before finishing...
